Amrit Unlimited Tea
Every morning, not only would my grandfather wake up to his freshly made green tea in his hands but also the endless coughs coming from my grandmother's sore throat. My grandfather has always had a fondness for tea as well as whipping up something in the kitchen. And after observing my grandmother's asthma worsen day by day despite her numerous medicines he decided that he had to make a somewhat “magical” cure for her.
My grandmother was severely asthmatic, and this lifelong issue of hers was what had prompted my grandfather to start making this tea. It started off as just an experiment, a hope to help his wife with her issues and to his surprise it worked wonders after he perfected the recipe and process.
Every morning at 5am without fail my grandfather wakes up, plays his bhajans (prays) around the house, walks into the kitchen and makes a cup of tea for my grandmother. Let me tell you, ever since my grandmother started drinking this tea not only did her asthma slowly start to fade away but her health improved beyond anyone's expectation. This tea has kept her safe from an asthma attack for almost 30 years now! Can you believe it? This is the power of homemade and natural sources.
Moving on, you know 2 decades back how not only everyone in the same apartment used to be very friendly but the whole neighbourhood as well. In their community, everyone knew my grandmothers condition and they were astonished at how she had recovered so fast and so well therefore few other elders in the society started requesting my grandfather for his tea wondering if it actually helped. And it did! They call him up every few months after the last bottle he provided them runs out! Not only in Delhi but-my grandparents spend a lot of time in Dubai and London as well. And over there, between their walking groups, lunch friends, apartment friends and even the porters had started requesting my grandfather for a bottle of his tea. It was insane how this simple tea had gone around and started becoming everyone's go to medicine.
I feel a large part of this is due to the fact that all natural resources are being used, it is a home made tea and not some medicine filled with chemicals which are not healthy for your body and can have many side effects, unlike those this, it can be called an ayurvedic treatment…
Amrit: Divine nectar of immortality—अमृत: भगवान का दिव्य अमृत
I asked my grandfather the same question when he placed the name “Amrit” out there for me. He then explained me the story behind the origin of this name Amrit, often called the drink of the gods, is believed to grant immortality. Also known as the "nectar of immortality" or "divine elixir," it holds profound significance in Hinduism, often depicted as a celestial substance that bestows immortality and divine blessings on those who consume it.
In the story of Samudra Manthan, the gods, cursed by the sage Durvasa, start losing their immortality. To reclaim it, they churn the ocean with the help of the asuras (demons) to find the amrit. After consuming it, the gods regain their immortality and defeat the demons.
In yogic philosophy, amrita is described as a fluid that can flow from the pituitary gland down the throat during deep meditation. This fluid is highly valued, with some yogic texts suggesting that even a single drop can conquer death and bestow immortality.
I feel this story perfectly coincides with the use of this tea, therefore leading us to create the name “Amrit Unlimited Tea”
